1. The High Plains Barrel Futurity will be supervised by our committee
and their decision will be final. We reserve the right to refuse entry
to any horse or individual.
2. The futurity is open to horses that are five years old or younger. Horses must not have reached the age of six
by the time of futurity. All entries will be mouthed by a licensed veterinarian.
If you are not present at the vet check you will assessed a $50.00 fine.
You will not run without a vet check.
3. To be eligible for the futurity, the horse must never have competed
in any barrel race for points, prizes, awards or money including A.Q.H.A.
shows, playdays, novice horse events, derbys, rodeos, etc. prior to December
1, 2006. To do so means forfeiture of any and all fees paid and elimination
from the futurity.
4. Should a nominated horse be sold during the course of the payment period,
written authorization must be received from the original owner and a $50.00
fee for ownership change must be paid, before the horse can continue to
be paid on. If no authorization & payment is received horse will be
required to nominate fro beginning.
5. Substitutions are allowed only due to illness, injury or death of the
nominated horse. A veterinarians affidavit of proof must accompany substitutions
along with a $75.00 fee. Deadline for substitutions will be August 1,
2007. The necessary papers on your horse must accompany the fee. Any substituted
horse will be ridden by the originally nominated rider and must be owned
by original owner. No Exceptions.
6. There will be two go-rounds and one final run. Total times of the two
go-rounds will determine the horses that qualify for the finals. The total
time of the two go-rounds plus the final time will determine the Championship
standings and winner.
7. The number of horses going to the finals will be 20% of the total futurity
starters, unless the total number of horses is under 50. If less than
50 horses, 10 will go to the finals.
8. Late nominations accepted at any time prior to August 1, 2007. However
each payment missed will be doubled. This goes for all Futurity, Maturity/Derby
horses.
9. No refunds in any case. Payment must accompany the nomination.
10. A photocopy of the front and back of the registration papers of the
horses, or veterinarians affidavit of year of birth and complete description
on the unregistered horses must accompany all nominations: if not, will
be figured as late payments until received.
11. Current 30 day health papers & 1 year coggins required on all
horses. Health papers must have designated on the destination High Plains
Futurity, Torrington, WY.
12. There will be an office charge of $65.00 of the total fee per horse.

13. Any insufficient fund checks will automatically require you to pay
in a cashiers check or money order. Those payments made with ISF checks
will be assessed late charges of $25.00.
14. Checks issued to placing horses will be made to whoever paid the entry
fee, whether rider or owner. No Exceptions! Distribution of payoff
1 through 10 horses – 3 monies (50-30-20%)
11 through 20 horses – 4 monies (40-30-20-10%)
21 through 30 horses – 5 monies (30-25-20-10%)
31 through 50 horses – 6 monies (30-24-18-12-9-7%)
51 through 70 horses – 7 monies (29-23-17-10-8-7-6%)
71 through 90 horses – 8 monies (28-22-15-9-8-7-6-5%)
91 through 110 horses – 9 monies (27-20-14-9-8-7-6-5-4%)
111 horse and over – 10 monies (26-19-13-9-8-7-6-5-4-3%)

MATURITY/DERBY
$500.00 purse,
The Maturity/Derby is open to any and all horses that
have been full paid up in prior High Plains Futurities
and any seven year old or younger horse. There will
be one go- round and the distribution of payoff will
be the same as in the Futurity. There will be an office
charge of $45.00 per horse with the balance being added
to the purse.
